K.L.Nagaswamy Memorial Polytechnic College is a Self Financing Polytechnic, established in the year 1983 and founded by Amarar. Thiru. K.L.N. Krishnan an Industrialist, Philanthropist and Educationalist with financial supports given by linguistic minority sourashtra community people. It has been approved By All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and the Government of Tamilnadu affiliated to Director of Technical Education, Chennai. Our Polytechnic College is situated at Kozhimedu, Viraganoor P.O. just 3 kms away from the city of Madurai on the Madurai – Rameshwaram Highways. Ours is the most outstanding institution of all the self financing Polytechnic Colleges in the southern region of Tamilnadu.
Our Polytechnic College is sponsored by K.L.Nagaswamy Memorial Sourashtra Polytechnic Council, Madurai managed by executive committe members under the presidentship of Shri. K.N.K. Ganesh.
The total area of the land is 15 acres and we take pride in stating that multi-storied buildings have been constructed for constituting spacious and ventilated lecture halls, well-equiped laboratories and workshops. Apart from our 1,32,000 sq.ft built up area, the long arrays of the shady green Gulmohor trees on the sides of our throughfare lend an enchanting view to the onlookers.
ACCREDITATION :
Our Polytechnic College is accredited by National Board of Accreditation, All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. A HIGH LEVEL TECHNICAL EXPERTS COMMITTEE from various Universities are visiting and observing the lab facilities and other infrastructure of all branches periodically. Accreditation award is issued to our Polytechnic college by National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi.
Industrial Training & Industry – Institute Interaction :
The students of the Polytechnic are deputed to undergo Inplant Training in various Industries to acquire Practical Knowledge in their subjects during summer and winter vacation.
Eminent Technical experts from Industries are invited periodically to our Polytechnic campus to deliver Guest Lectures in the latest technologies.
Industrial visits to Industries are periodically arranged to enhance the technical Knowledge of the students.
Library :
Well stocked library with 18000 Reference Books for the students’ use has been established and Journals and Magazines are available in abundance. The Library functions from 9.00 A.M to 6.00 P.M.
Transport :
Thirteen buses are in service for transport.
Entrepreneurship Development Cell :
Every year EDP is conducted for the outgoing students to start their career as Entrepreneurs. The Officials from Government Organisations such as TIIC, DIC, KVIC, SIDCO, etc., and the Senior Managers of Nationalised Banks address the students and give information about the Subsidies and facilities offered to ENTREPRENEURS by Government Organisations and also the Loan Schemes of Nationalised banks in EDP. The students are guided by the EDP Cell in the Polytechnic to approach the Organizations.
- EDCell was established in 2009 sponsored and funded by AICTE, New Delhi.
2. We received grant-in aid of Rs. 8 lakhs from AICTE, Rs 4 Lakhs for non recurring grant and Rs 4 lakhs for recurring grant for a period of 3 years.
Hostel
Separate Hostel facilities are available for both Boys and Girls.
